January 28, 2011 - What happened to Crayola?

In order to make the 2011 aspirations craft (that you can see in a photo from earlier this month), I found myself needing to purchase markers. Just the plain old ROYGBIV would have been fine, but I found these that proclaimed having different hues of the old standby colors + pink and thought, 'Cool!'. Back when I remembered getting crayola crayons and products, part of the fun was the corporation's cleverness with the color names. Well, that cleverness has fallen by the wayside, like woah. These colors are named vague and useless words that give very little, if any, clue to what the color is. We have things named 'sweet' and 'slimy' and the absolutely horrible 'clear' (it's blue, but you wouldn't know that from the name). I miss the old crayola names.
