I don't know if other families do this, but mine has always believed that if you put out pennies before midnight on New Year's Eve and then bring them in after the new year arrives, you'll have good luck. So. I still do that. You put out a penny for every person/pet in your home. These are the pennies for 2011.

December 31, 2010 - Welcoming in the new year.
I don't know if other families do this, but mine has always believed that if you put out pennies before midnight on New Year's Eve and then bring them in after the new year arrives, you'll have good luck. So. I still do that. You put out a penny for every person/pet in your home. These are the pennies for 2011.
